Dragon Boat Faestival.

This is the last entry during this semester. Thanks Patrick and all my classmates. You helped me a lot. Because i don't like to write my feeling out, i write another topic in this entry. It's the Dragon Boat Festival.
Dragon Boat Festival occupies an important place in the Chinese traditional culture. Dragon Boat Festival is on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month. On that day, we eat Zongzi and play dragon boat. We must remember a person on that day, his name is Quyuan. Dragon Boat Festival is a day in memory of Quyuan.In 340BC, Quyuan was born in an aristocratic family of Chu state. There were seven main states during this period. They were Qin, Chu, Yan, Han, Zhao, Wei and Qi. Quyuan was a famous politician and poet at that time. When he was a adult, he had a very important position in Chu state. He was a loyal minister who was trusted by the king of Chu state.Qin state bribed ministers of Chu state to impair the strength of Chu state for conquest China. The minister who was bribed by Qin state bespattered Quyuan in the front of the king of Chu State. By inchmeal, the king of Chu state estranged himself from Quyuan.In 278BC, Chu state was destroyed by Qin state.When Quyuan heard this bad new, he seemed to give himself up to despair and on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month, he threw himself into Milo River. Then the people of Chu state rushed him to rescue by dragon boat. They threw Zongzi and eggs into the river to feed the fishes, because they were afraid that the fishes would eat the corpse of Quyuan. Therefore, Dragon Boat Festival is a day to memory of Quyuan.

Jurassic Park 1

One day, i watched the Jurassic Park 1. Next i would like to guess what's going to happen in the future.
Someone said humans cannot break the order of nature. The purpose of the movie is to tell us humans do not have power to antagonize dinosaurs. If humans rivive the dinosaurs, the humans will die. Therefore, the island, which have the Jurassic Park in, cannot exist in the world. The dinosaurs cannot live in the world. In the future the main characters may distroy this island. When the main character came back the New York, he wrote a report to the government. He said we are dangerous now. We must kill all the dinosaurs in the island. The government made 2 atomic bombs as soon as possible and ordered 2 fighter-bomber to destory the island. One day, these 2 fighter-bombers went to there. Suddenlly, 2 mushroom-shaped cloud appeared on the island and the island was swallowed by the Ocean. At that time, all of the lives which lived on the island was over. Before the bombers come, half of the island's lives are T.rexes. The island are controlled by T.rexes, because they are the strongest breed in the island.

pollution of steel

When i watched a video called China Revs Up, a scene showed the pollution from steel. The steel industry is very important in China. Half of the Chinese economy depends on the steel industry. Capital Steel is the third largest producer in China. It's located in Beijing. This company has an important position in China and the output of this company is very high, but a disadvantage of this company is the pollution in Beijing. The environment of Beijing is very bad. Therefore, the government ordered Capital Steel to improve the equipment of pollution control. Capital Steel follwos the government and ameliorates the equipment.
I think the government is right. When i came to Beijing seven years ago, i could not see the blue sky. The sky was gray and the river looked black and smelled nauseating. Then i saw some newspapers in Beijing and they said: the rain became acid rain and the acid rain could erode some culture relics. The pollution was very terrible and dangerous. One day, i was seeing City New, and they said the reasion of the pollution was from Capital Steel. Last year, i went to Beijing again, and the environment was better. there are many green plants in the city. I think there are 2 reasons for the change. First, Beijing will hold the Olympic Game in 2008. We cannot show a bad environment to foreign people. Second, a bad envirnment is bad for people's health. Many people of Beijing were ill because of pollution. The government must improve the envirnment for people's health. Whatever, we must protect this place which we lived.

Hear Our Voice

I watched a video which called "Hear Our Voice" in CC class. After i watched it, there is one story i can't forget. That's, a woman who was deserted by her husband, was working as a brick carrier. She had to support the whole spending of the family. She had three children and she was actually 19 years old.
This woman's miseable life gave me a big impact of how hard life is being a poor person. As for me, i was born in a happy family. I've never worried about money. Thinking about spending money studying aboard, i feel that i'm so lucky to have a life of this. I hope i can get used to the university life in Calgary and try my best to learn as much as i can in the future. At last, I hope i can give some distribution to these poor countries when i learn enough knowledge to help them.

Poverty

I found a cartoon picture from the internet. there is a politician in the picture talking to some body on the phone saying:"you know it's getting more difficult to help the poor and downtrodden with all this new media attention." there are cameras and a microphone around him and money bags uner his feet.
In my opinion, this picture is really satirizing promise their people they will change the poor situation. however, most of them usually think about themselves. it's not that the country doesn't have money to help the poor, but the money goes to the pocket of the politicians. after the corrupting, there is not enough money for the development of the country. such a poor situation can never be changed. things get worthless sometimes.
About 20 years ago, there was a slaughter in Indonesia. aboriginal people killed a lot of Chinese-Indonesians. the reason for this slaughter is mostly because of money. they thought Chinese people were hypocritical, and that's why Chinese were richer. the Suharto government controlled over fifty percent of the entire funds. What an enormous number! the Suharto family told the Indonesians that Chinese extorted their money.
This is a cruel example, but it happened. Of course, it's almost impossible to change the government. i feel sad after seeing this picture. this picture uncovered a frustrating fact. as the development of the new media, more and more dark sites of those governments were exposed to people. i hope this method can solve the problems of these government.

Beggar

Look at this picture, there is a woman and a child. The child lies on the ground and the woman sit on the ground beside the child. There is a bowl in front of them and there are some coins inside the bowl. Their clothes are very poor and the child look like he is sick. Maybe the woman doesn't have enough money to see the doctor, so she looks hopeless. They are beggars.

China is a developing country and there are 1.4 billion people. The government does not have enough power to produce enough food for all of the people. There are so many people who don't have enough food to eat in the suburbs. Some of them starve to death in the suburbs. Some of other people move into big cities, but they still don't have money to buy food. Therefore, they become beggars. I saw a lot of beggars in China. Some of them looked like they need help, they may lost a leg or a arm or have a burn on their body. The beggar's life is very poor. They usually stay and sleep beside the bus station or under the bridge because they don't have homes. Some cities have a place for these people and give them some food and money, but they still don't want to stay there. They think they can get more money, if they go begging outside. Therefore, thy go out during the daytime and go back to shelter at night.

I know the government has tried its best, but I think it's still not enough. The government needs to find a new strategy to solve these poverty problems. Even though China has so many people, the Chinese government still has to develop the economy and improve people's lives. I hope the number of beggar can decrease in the future and poverty will go away.

What's success?

What's success? How can i be a successful person? In the modern time, a lot of people think a successful person must be a rich person and must have a lot of money. They think success is money.
I don't think success is money. Some people are rich so their sons or daughters are rich. Can we say their sons or daughters are successful people? I think success can be everything. Everyone have a dream. If he does the hard work for his dream and gets his goal, he is a successful person. For example, now i have a goal. I want to pass the LEAP3. I study hardly and do the homework every day. If i pass the Leap3, I think I am a successful man on that time. Therefore, everyone can be a successful person, if he have a goal and work hardly for his goals.

Eight Days of Luke

I saw a book which is called "eight days of luke". It's a intresting book. The main character of this book is David. David’s parents are dead. He lives in his Great Uncle’s family. There are 4 members in his family. They’re Great Aunt Dot, Great Uncle Bernard, their son Cousin Ronald and Cousin Ronald’s wife Astrid. All of them are odious relatives. They send David to a boarding school. Every holiday they sent David to Educational Tour or Holiday Camp. This summer holiday, his relatives are being more horrid than usual, and David seems doomed to a miserable time, until he meets Luke. One day, all of them are all going to visit other family except David. David is very angry and he writes a curse and read it. Then Luke appears. Luck said, he was held in prison, and very grateful to David for releasing him. David is very surprised about Luke, because he can appear and disappears with ease, and he can wrap anybody (even David's horrible relations) around his finger, and he can kindle fire at his spirit. Though Luke is very funny, David also afraid something, because more strange people begin to appear and they are going to hunt Luke. David decides to help Luke defend himself against his enemies. Then David and Luke start to evade these strange people.

The Clock
Hillary Clinton died and went to heaven. As she stood in front of St. Peter at the Pearly Gates she saw a huge wall of clocks behind him.She asked, "What are all those clocks?"???St Peter answered, "Those are Lie-Clocks. Everyone on Earth has a Lie-Clock. Every time you lie the hands on your clock will move.""Oh," said Hillary, "who's clock is that?""That's Mother Theresa's. The hands have never moved indicating that she never told a lie.""Who's clock is that?" "That's Abraham Lincoln's clock. The hands have only moved twice telling us that Abe only told 2 lies in his entire life.""Where is Bill's clock?" Hillary asked."Bill's clock is in Jesus' office. He is using it as a ceiling fan."

Arnold Schwarzenegger

I downloaded a movie in this weekend. This movie called Terminator Ⅲ. I have seen this movie one year ago. Arnold Schwarzenegger is my favourte actor. I have seen a lot of his movies such as "End of Days", "The Sixth Day", "Collateral Damage", "Terminator 2", "True lies" and so on.
Schwarzenegger was born in Graz, Austria and his birthday is July, 31th(some day with me). He has three careers in his life: Bodybuilding career, acting career and political career.
When Schwarzenegger was a boy, he played many sports and discovered his passion for bodybuilding. He won many bodybuilding contest like Mr. Europe, NABBA Mr. Universe professional, Mr. World and Mr. Olympia.
Initially he had trouble breaking into films because of his long surname, large muscles, and foreign accent, but he was chosen to play the role of Hercules in the "Hercules in New York". He is best-known as the title character of director James Cameron's android thriller The Terminator(1984), The Terminator 2:Judgment Day (1991) and The Terminator 3:Rise of the Machines (2003).
About his political career, I just knew that he is the Governor of California.
